Enter your figures below to see your income tax, employee National Insurance and take-home pay for the 2026/27 tax year. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
England, Wales and Northern Ireland rates for 2026/27. Scottish income tax rates differ and are not modelled here. Choose how the pension contribution is made. Net-pay contributions are deducted before Income Tax but not National Insurance. Salary sacrifice reduces the pay used for both Income Tax and National Insurance. Under relief at source, enter the gross contribution including the basic-rate relief the provider adds; the estimate includes higher or additional-rate relief in the annual tax figure and subtracts only the amount you pay from take-home pay. Not modelled: student loan repayments, the marriage allowance, blind person's allowance, benefits in kind, self-employed Class 2 and Class 4 National Insurance, dividend, savings, rental, pension or self-employment income, employer pension contributions, reaching State Pension age part way through the tax year, the rule that a salary sacrifice must not reduce cash earnings below the National Minimum Wage, the relief available to someone with little or no earnings, the money purchase annual allowance or alternative annual allowance, and any pension annual allowance charge (a contribution above the allowance is flagged below the result, but no charge is added to the figures). Sources: GOV.UK: income tax rates and Personal Allowances, GOV.UK: rates and thresholds for employers 2026 to 2027, GOV.UK: tax and National Insurance after State Pension age, GOV.UK: pension tax relief, GOV.UK: pension annual allowance and GOV.UK: salary sacrifice for employers. Rates and thresholds checked 3 September 2026. Pension annual allowance figures checked 23 September 2026. Both against the GOV.UK pages linked here. For relief at source, enter the amount in the pension after the provider adds basic-rate relief. For example, enter £10,000 when you pay £8,000 and the provider adds £2,000.
Enter your figures, then calculate to see the result and its breakdown.
